— 1918

HMAS Australia led the port line of the British Fleet at the surrender of the German Fleet in the Firth of Forth, Scotland. HMA Ships Melbourne and Sydney were also present.

— 1943

Japanese forces launched a surprise counter-attack at Scarlet Beach, near Lae, New Guinea. The position was narrowly held by Australian and American defenders.
