The Legacy Centenary Torch Relay starts its grand arrival in Sydney at the Anzac Memorial on 19 July at 10.30am.
2023 is a milestone year for Legacy as the iconic Australian charity celebrate its centenary – 100 years of supporting veterans’ families. To mark this special year, Legacy Australia is embarking on the Legacy Centenary Torch Relay, presented by Defence Health.
The Torch Relay started on 23 April in Pozières, France. After travelling through London, the only Legacy Club outside of Australia, the Torch returned to Australia to visit all 44 Legacy Clubs nationwide.
As it currently journeys down the East Coast of Australia, it carries the spirit of support, compassion and resilience that defines Legacy's mission.
The grand arrival of the Torch in Sydney is set for 18 July. To mark this occasion, Sydney Legacy is hosting a relay around the CBD on 19 July, commencing at 10.30am at the Anzac Memorial in Hyde Park. The Torch will be lit in the Flame of Remembrance at the Memorial, and a remembrance ceremony will take place shortly after, attended by the Minister for Veterans, the Hon David Harris MP.
